Dexter does make a 4,000 lb axle, but unfortunately we do not carry them. I do have another option for you though. I recommend the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension System, # ASR5200S04. This axle-less system has a built in suspension and brake flange. The deflection or suspension travel is 2-3/4 inches. This axle-less system is nice in that it gives you more clearance in-between your wheels.
For this system, I recommend the Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 5,200-lb Axles - 6 on 5-1/2 - E-Z Lube, # 8-201-5UC3-EZ. We would install these hubs over the Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - Self-Adjusting - 12" - Right Hand - 5,200 lbs to 7,000 lbs, # AKEBRK-7R-SA and the Left Hand Assembly # AKEBRK-7L-SA. These self-adjusting brake assemblies install easily and require no periodic adjustments.
Moving up to a larger axle means that drum bolt pattern changed, so we will also need new wheels. I recommend using radial tires on these wheels to give you better highway driving and traction. For this application I suggest the Contender ST225/75R15 Radial Trailer Tire w/ 15" White Spoke Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2 - Load Range D, # TA57VR. These tires have a speed rating of M which is up to 81 mph.
