Question:

i recently purchased a bass boat with disc brakes, it was a triton boat and trailer, i find it easier putting in it the garage with hitch on the front of my trailer, but that presents a problem, i need the disc brakes hooked up so they will release them and and not lock up, what is a ideal for me to do this. the people at the boat dealers say they use a tractor to move their boats arounf so that hooked a wire to disc brakes, just curious what u thought.

If you have a manual lockout, you will be able to use that and navigate with your front hitch without any wiring. If you have an electric lockout, you will need to supply 12 volts to that solenoid to release the brakes. I'd suggest getting a matching connector for your trailer like # PK11893 or # HM47900 and hardwiring the reverse wire directly to your battery and run a ground wire to the negative battery terminal from the connector. This will allow you to have that single function to utilize your front hitch for your boat trailer. I've attached a help article for you to determine which wire location to connect to the battery. If you need the electric lockout solenoid replaced, it is part # T4748800 and the solenoid shield is # T4835800183.
