What Dimension is Needed to Pick out Replacement Trailer Wheel Center Cap

Published 10/27/2016

Question:

I am looking for a chrome cap to fit a single axle Lark enclosed trailer VT508SA with 15x5J rims. The chrome tube/hub measures 3.225 inch od through the 5 hole aluminum rim. It is missing a cap on one side so I just need one cap plug. The id of the tube measures 2.520 where the cap plug would snap inside. The chrome cap on the other side measures 2.95 od. I could not find one that would fit searching on line.

To pick out replacement center caps for your wheels you need to go by the pilot diameter of the wheel. It sounds like you have a pilot diameter of 3.225 inches. The closest match we have is the part # LHCS102-SI60C which is for pilot diameters of 3.19 inches. You might remeasure the pilot diameter to make sure you have the correct dimension.

It's important to get an exact dimension. For that you need to use a digital caliper like part # PTW80157.

I attached a link to a page that has all of the center caps we offer as well. Select the diameter you need by the pilot size filter.
