To flat tow your 1994 Ford Ranger you will need the tow bar, base plates, safety cables, and the wiring for lights.
The Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520 is an excellent choice to tow your 1994 Ford Ranger. It is a non-binding tow bar which means the towed vehicle can be disconnected with a switch even when the vehicle is at a hard angle or not level with the tow bar. I am sending a video link to a review on the Falcon 2.
The base plates you will need are the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit # 435-3. These will allow you to connect the tow bar to your 1994 Ford Ranger, but they will not fit if you have fog lights on your vehicle.
You will also need the RoadMaster 68 Inch Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables, # RM-643. These safety cables will keep the vehicle attached to the tow vehicle in case the coupler becomes detached from the hitch ball.
For lighting, you can wire your vehicle using Roadmaster Universal Diode Wiring Kit # RM-154. The other option would be to use Magnetic Towing Light Kit # RM-2120, which are lights that attach to your vehicle using magnets. If you are going to be towing your Ford Ranger often, I would recommend using the # RM-154 kit, as you would just plug in your vehicle after the initial install. I am sending a video link of a typical installation. The vehicle is different, but the wiring principle is the same.
You will want to check in your owners manual or with the manufacturer for instructions on the proper procedure for towing your 1994 Ford Ranger, because some vehicles must be equipped with a transmission lube pump, an axle disconnect, drive line disconnect, or free-wheeling hubs before they can be towed.
