Which Wire to Tap Into for Install of Roadmaster Brake Lite Relay on a 2012 Honda Fit

Question:

I have installed the Curt 56146KIT on my motorhome and the Trailermate TM783104 tow bar wiring kit on my 2012 Honda Fit. But, due to my supplemental braking system, it looks like I need to order the Roadmaster Brake-Lite relay kit # RM-88400 as well. Before I order I have an installation question: There are 4 wires going into the Honda brake light switch. Which wire do I need to cut? I saw an article on the 2010 Fit where Chris B. said to cut the green/silver wire. Is that also correct for the 2012 Fit? Thanks!

Most likely it's the same color wire on your 2012 Honda Fit as what would be for a 2010 Fit but you will need to test the wire first just to verify with a circuit tester like part # PTW2993. I would start by testing that green with silver wire if you can find it and move on from there if needed testing the rest of the wires to find the one with voltage only when brakes are applied.

I attached an install video for a 2008 Fit for you to check out as well.
