I went out to the warehouse to test one of the Erickson Inboard/Outboard Transom Tie-Downs, # EM06100. THe first thing I noticed is that they come ready to use right out of the box. However, should you need to re-thread the hook with the longer cable back through the buckle, here is what you will do.
With the buckle in the open position set it on a table upside down (the metal U shaped bracket facing down). Take the end of the long cable with the folded part facing up and insert it under the bracket and into the second hole. Only pull it through a little. Next, take that same end and route it through the remaining hole. Pull to the desired length. Tension is needed in order for the unit to lock in the closed position.
