Will Thule EasyFold Bike Rack Work on Long Wheelbase Bike
Published 08/26/2016 >
Question:
Hi, I have a large Dutch family bike with a wheelbase of just over 46inch axle-to-axle and fenders. It weighs about 60 lbs. It seems like the Thule EasyFold is the best solution for carrying this bike, but I still have a few questions. The total width of the EasyFold is 48... just about 1.5inch longer than the wheelbase of my bike. I also noticed that the wheel straps are located fairly far inboard on the EasyFold. Will it safely hold my bike with a long wheelbase and will the standard wheel straps fit around my wheels? Thanks Kyle

I spoke with my contact at Thule and she told me that your 46 inch wheelbase bike would be a little on the big side for the Thule EasyFold part # TH903202 but it would still easily fit and work well.
The wheel straps would also work just fine too. They would grab the wheels more towards the center of the bike but they would still be effective there.
