What Exactly is a Tires Section Width

Question:

What exactly is the section width of a tire? Is it just the width of the thread or the width or widest part of the whole tire?

The section width refers to the distance from the widest point of a tire's outer sidewall to the widest point of its inner sidewall; this distance is measured once the tire is mounted on the wheel it is going to be used with, as you can see in the provided photo.
