Question:

Need Reese 5th wheel hitch for 2016 Silverado 1500. The truck has a 61/2 foot bed, is a crew cab four doors and has the Max Towing Package. Your site lists several Reese products...but there is little or no difference in the descriptions that I can see. Which of the models is best suited to pull a Jayco HT trailer with a max loaded weight of 9800 lbs?

I can help you pick out everything you will need to tow a trailer with your 2016 Chevy Silverado 1500 6-1/2 foot bed. Since you have a short bed you are going to have to go with a slider hitch to allow the trailer to clear your truck cab around corners.

I would recommend a hitch that automatically slides as you make the turn so that you don't have to get out and activate everytime you enter or leave a parking lot. For that I would recommend the Demco Hijacker part # DM8550034. I attached a review video for you to check out as well. This would be the best setup.

For fifth wheel rails you will want to go with a custom rail kit as it will install easier and minimize install time. For that you would want the part # DM8552027-71.
