Question:
Do the stairs rust?

Expert Reply:
The Brophy scissor steps # SS03 are steel with a black powder coat. Steel can rust if it is exposed to the elements. Eventually the powder coat can get chips or scratches in it exposing the steel and then it can start to rust. If you notice scratches or chips you can spray paint over them to help prevent corrosion.
Another option is to go with the aluminum version, # AS03. Aluminum is naturally corrosion resistant and will not rust like steel. I have linked a video review of the aluminum version for you.
