How to Determine if a Cargo Box and Thule J-Style Kayak Carrier Will Both Fit on a Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

Is there a roof box that will fit onto Crosstrek that also carries one kayak on Thule Hullaport? Thule box dimensions sound too wide to fit with my kayak carrier at same time. Thanks.

It depends on how much free crossbar space there is on your Subaru XV Crosstrek once you have the kayak mounted on the Hull-a-Port. You can determine this by placing the kayak carrier on the roof then measuring from the back of the kayak carrier (where it sticks out the furthest towards where the cargo box would be) to the end of the bar. I have included a picture to better illustrate what I need.

If you can tell me that measurement and if you have the factory crossbars or aftermarket bars that extend out past the side rails I can determine if any boxes will fit.
