Can a Trailer with 16 inch Wheels go to 15 inch Wheels If Weight Capacity is Adequate

Question:
I have a 03 HR Alumascape 30RLD, can I switch from a 225/75/16E to 225/75/15E? The 15inch are much more common and cheaper with same weight rating and height.

Expert Reply:
As long as you match up the wheel bolt pattern, the height that you would need for the tire, and the weight capacity needed for the trailer you certainly can go to a 15 inch wheel and tire from a 16.
The part # AM32680 has a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern and has a weight capacity of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi. If you are unsure what you wheel bolt pattern is check out the link I attached that details how to determine this.
