Question:
Recommendations for the class 3, 2inch hitch required on my 2016 Subaru acrosstrek in order to haul this carrier. Also, is there a 2inch hitch receiver on the outboard end of the carrier? I am wondering if there is one to install an L-bracket for a bike rack and/or an L-bracket with 2inch mount for fishing pole rod holders. If there is no such receiver, is there a product you recommend that allows for this with the cage carrier?

The Class III, 2 inch trailer hitch that fits your 2016 Subaru Crosstrek is # C13135. When installed it will measure 2-1/2 inches from the center of the pin hole back to clear the rear bumper. I have linked a video showing an example installation for you.
Please note that Curt, the hitch manufacturer, requires the use of stabilization strap # 18050 when using this trailer hitch with any non-trailer load, including cargo carriers, for their warranty requirements.
The Carpod carrier # M2200-01-02 measures 4 inches from the pin hole to the nearest part of the carrier so it will clear the bumper on your Crosstrek.
There is not a receiver at the end of this carrier or on any of the carriers we carry. Putting anything at the end of a hitch mounted carrier will extend the length so much that it will put excessive stress on the hitch and could damage it and the vehicle.
However, there is one bike rack that comes with a cargo carrier at the end, # HR1450Z-85, but it is not the caged type of carrier.
