Troubleshooting Trailer Brakes that Short Out After 1/2 Hour Of Driving

Question:
I have a new trailer 1yr old and a Prodigy P3 brake controller. I have rewired the controller and everything seems fine. The issue I am having is when the trailer is cold it seems to work fine however after about 1/2 hour of towing the brakes short out at about 1.2 amps. When I manually test the brakes they short as well, but I can feel them pulsing. The trailer is only 14 months old.

Sounds like the problem may be the magnets in the brake assemblies of your trailer.
What you will you will want to do is check out the help article I attached that details how to test them so that you can find the bad magnet and replace as needed.
Typically magnets don't go bad on newer trailers, but based on what you described it sounds like that's what happened.
