Question:
I was wondering if I could replace my brakes with E-trailer self adjusting brake assembly of the same size? My axle is Hayes 12inch x 2inch 5200lb and made in 1990. The fifth wheel is a Kit Companion 1991Model 29ZF with a 10,000 lb GVW rating. If so, Ill be ordering them from you. Thank you.

We have brake assemblies that will work for you, but unfortunately it will not work to replace your existing Hayes/AL-KO brake assemblies with our self-adjusting brake assemblies. For your Hayes axle, you will want to use the 12 Inch Electric Brake Assembly, Left Hand # 23-105-09 and Right Hand # 23-106-09.
These brake assemblies are designed to work as replacement assemblies for Hayes/AL-KO axles so they will work well on your trailer. The reason other assemblies will not work for your Hayes axle has to do with the spacing on the back of the brake assembly.
If you need new brake mounting hardware, you can use the bolt # 7-5, lockwasher # 38LW, and nut # 38N.
