As long as you stay within the manufacturers tongue weight and gross trailer weight ratings, see bumper and owners manual, you will not have a problem towing with the Curt 2 inch Bumper Hitch, 5,000 lbs GTW, item # E-3S.
A better solution for your towing needs would be the Draw-Tite Class III Trailer Hitch, item # 75607, which is designed specifically for your 2005 Colorado. This is a no drill installation and all of the mounting hardware is included.
