Question:

looking at your Kodiak disc brakes, I have two 7000 lb axles and a 2014 Dodge truck, My fifth wheel is a 38 footer, what would be all the parts that i would need to install this system on my fifth wheel and would the brake system from my dodge work with this also, looking to find out my cost as a kit would be? Thank you

As long as the brake controller in your 2014 Dodge Ram pickup has a setting for electric-over-hydraulic (EOH) brakes then it should be able to work properly after you convert your tandem axcle 5th wheel trailer to EOH disk brakes. Aftermarket controllers like the Prodigy P2 # 90885 and P3 # 90195 offer the flexibility to work with either electric or EOH braking systems simply by selecting that option from their menu screens.

The linked article covers the entire process and parts required for converting a trailer to EOH disc brakes. There is no all-inclusive kit offered. You'll need two sets of disc brakes assemblies, a brake line kit long enough for your 38-foot 5th wheel, an EOH actuator, and breakaway kit. If you find you need a new controller then either of the Prodigy units noted above will be an excellent choice.

The linked page will display all disc kits for 7K axles. All use the 8-on-6-1/2 bolt pattern hub/rotors and all work with wheels 16-inches or larger. Prices for kits vary depending on the finish/material employed. A stainless steel kit like Kodiak # K2R712S will provide the longest life but costs substantially more than a raw finish kit like # K2R79.

You'll also need a tandem axle brake line kit like part # HS496-252 and an EOH actuator like the HydraStar # HBA16. The actuator will work with the factory brake controller in your 2014 Ram. For a breakaway kit use part # 20099.
