Weight Distribution System Recommendation for Trailer with over 1,200 lbs Tongue Weight

Question:
We will be purchasing a travel trailer toy hauler soon. UVW will be approx 7300 lbs with a GVW of 11000 lbs. Tongue weight unloaded is approx 1200 lbs. Unknown what tongue weight will be when loaded. Have looked into several weight distribution hitches. I like the Blue Ox Sway Pro. If I went with this, would it be best to go with the 15k lb unit? Would not get close to GVW but tongue weight could be close to the 1500 lbs. What would be your suggestion for a WD hitch for our use? Truck is a 97 Ford F350 CC 4x4. Has transmission upgrades as well as engine. Thanks for your assistance.

The best way to pick out a weight distribution system is to base it off of the loaded tongue weight of the setup when it is loaded and ready to tow. This figure also includes the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. I attached a help article on determining tongue weight for you to check out as well. You will want the loaded tongue weight of your setup to fall right in the middle of the tongue weight range of the system you use.
If the tongue weight unloaded is 1,200 lbs you are most likely going to end up higher than 1,500 lbs when loaded.
The best setup then would be the Reese Titan StraitLine part number # RP66075 that has a tongue weight range of 1,000-1,700 lbs.
You would need a shank to go with this as well. If you have a 2-1/2 inch hitch you would need the part # RP54977 or if you have a 2 inch hitch # RP54998.
For a hitch ball then you would need the part # 63840.
