Does Axle have to be Removed from Trailer to Install an Over/Under Conversion Kit

Question:
Will the axle need to be pulled out or can the springs be taken off and then put on over the axle? Jack up the frame high enough the put the springs on?? Please advise

Expert Reply:
You will not have to take the axle off of the trailer to install an over under kit such as # K71-384-00 for 2-3/8 inch diameter round axles or # K71-385-00 for 3 inch axles. Just make sure the trailer is supported at the frame when performing the installation.
