Question:

We have just purchased a Sea doo wake 2015 model along with a dunbier trailer. The dunbier trailer came with a 300kilo winch. On the weekend the winch gave out snapping the pin in the winch and are jet ski came off the trailer smashing the bottom of the jet ski on the bottom of the boat ramp. My question is after finding out the dry weight of the Seadoo is well over 300 kilos and then with a full tank of fuel brings its full weight up to over 423 kilos. Is that the correct winch or should we be using a 500 kilo winch? Thanks for your advice. Kind regards

Sorry to hear about your Sea Doo falling off your trailer! When picking out a boat or PWC winch the general rule of thumb is that you need a winch with a 2 to 1 capacity for the weight of the watercraft. So since 500 kg equals right at 1,100 lbs and everything we offer is rated in lbs you would want at least a 550 lb rated winch.
