Question:
I have a stripped stud bolt on my ATV trailer and need to know if can replace the stud or do I have to replace the whole hub? Or can I get by on only having the wheel mounted with only four lug nuts? Thanks for any advice you can give me.

If your trailer is using the Trailer Hub Assembly, # 84545BX, that you have referenced, you can use the Replacement Trailer Hub Wheel Stud, Drive-In, # RG03-040. This is a 1/2 inch drive-in stud that is 1-13/16 inches long with a spline length of 0.62 inches, a base length of 0.73 inches, and a spline diameter of 0.61 inches. These dimensions match those used on the hub you have referenced.
If the wheels studs on your hub match these dimensions and are the drive-in style (as opposed to the screw-in type) then these studs will fit. If you measure your studs and find you need a different size or type wheel stud, I have included a link to the wheel stud main page below.
As long as you use the correct size replacement wheel stud, you will not have to replace the whole hub. It is not recommended on mounted the wheel with only 4 lugs on a 5 lug hub. The wheel is stud piloted meaning that studs and lugs center the wheel, and missing one could make the wheel off center and cause unwanted trailer performance. Also, the hub requires all 5 studs to be safely mounted to the trailer.
