Does the OEM skid plate on mt 2006 Tundra have to be removed to install this hitch?

I spoke with my contact at Curt about Front mount hitch # 31180 for the 2006 Toyota Tundra. He stated that the skid plate does not have to be removed, but there is some trimming of the plate that will need to be done in order to install the hitch. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this hitch below.
