Question:
I know to do all my trailer work through you guys! I am considering converting my 14,500 pound goose neck living quarter three horse trailer to fifth wheel configuration due to California trailering laws. I have the B and W Turn Over Ball hitch. It looks like the B and W Companion Gooseneck Adapter would be a good way to go...do you agree? And, if so, what conversion adapter would you recommend for the trailer? PS...I had my trailer in Missouri this fall...B and W trailered GREAT...all the way out and back from California!

Thank you for your support of etrailer!
Since you have the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch, the B&W Companion Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter # BWRVK3500 will work great for you! The dual jaws provide 360-degree contact between the jaws and king pin, resulting in a more secure connection and less rattle than a slide-bar jaw. The Companion has a gross towing weight of 20,000 pounds and a vertical load limit of 5,000 pounds.
The Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel trailer coupler adapter I recommend is the Bulldog Round Inner Tube # BD0289640300. This adapter will replace the existing inner tube on your trailer. The large square plate above the king pin provides a larger surface area to contact the hitch than coupler adapters with smaller round plates. This coupler adapter has a weight capacity of 25,000 pounds.
I have attached a link to all of the gooseneck coupler adapters for you in case the Bulldog # BD0289640300 isn't a fit for your trailer.
I have also attached review videos of the Companion # BWRVK3500 and Bulldog # BD0289640300.
