Will Kuat Beta Bike Rack Fit 2006 Saturn Ion 3 with Curt Class I Trailer Hitch

Question:

2006 Saturn ION 3 with 2.4 Liter engin/larger muffler than smaller engin , The Curt class 1, 1- 1/4receiver pin hole is located appx. 7inch ~ 8inch behind the rear bumper . Looking for quality bike rack for 1 or 2 bikes. Will Kuat Beta B202-114 to 1-1/4inch receiver work without extention device ... ? Need your kind advice. Thanks.

You will not need a hitch extender for the Kuat Beta on your 2006 Saturn Ion 3. The Kuat Beta # B202-114 measures 10-1/2 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the upright bar. Since the bike rack has a rise shank, you will want to make sure there is room for the shank rise to clear the bumper. The shank rise on the Beta is approximately 3-1/2 inches, and the rise begins about 5 inches out from the hitch pin hole.

As long as the hitch receiver is not tucked up closely to the bottom of the bumper, I do not think this rise should be a problem for you. The rise will help provide better ground clearance for your bikes.
