Hitch Recommendation for a 2001 BMW 325xi Wagon
Published 09/01/2015 >
Question:
I am considering buying a 2001 BMW 325xi wagon. It has been modified with a MTECH ZHP rear bumper. I have a pic if you need it. Your description of your hitch receivers says except M versions. Can I cut into the bumper to make this receiver fit? Thanks

Since your 2001 BMW 325xi isn't an actual M model the Curt hitch part # C11174 that you referenced would technically fit if it wasn't for the aftermarket bumper. Since this hitch hasn't been tested with that bumper I can't say for certain what it would take to make the hitch fit.
Based on how this hitch installs it should still bolt up, but it would be a matter of trimming the rear bumper potentially to get it to fit your vehicle. I attached an install video for you to check out as well as a picture that shows the hitch installed.
