Replacement Trailer Axle for a Carry On 5x8 Foot Utility Trailer
Published 08/19/2015 >
Question:
Im considering replacing the entire axle and leaf spring assembly on my single axle Carry-On 5x8 Utility Trailer. The OEM axle is the Dexter 53019. I havent found that model axle on etrailer and of the axles available on etrailer, Im not sure if theres a comparable match in a different product. Can you please advise if etrailer stocks an axle that matches the Dexter 53019? And if so, could you please also advise the parts list for the leaf springs, bolts, and brackets for replacing the axle and springs on this trailer? I certainly would like to make my purchase of these parts from etrailer, my favorite place to source trailer parts! Being my trusted and preferred source for trailer parts, I will appreciate your guidance and assistance.

We may not have a straight axle solution but we do have axle-less options. I have included a link to them for you. The great thing about these systems is that they have the suspension built in, sort of like a torsion axle. And ground clearance is improved because there is no axle hanging down.
We carry the most common sizes of straight axles in the lower capacities but axles can literally be any size so its tough to carry them all. If none of the straight axles we have will fit and you don't want to use an axle-less system you could special order one to the specifications you need at a local trailer supply store.
