I have an 06 Chevy 2500hd crew cab that im looking for a fifth wheel setup for. I would like to have one without the rail mount system and that is easily removed when not in use. What do you recommend?

I recommend an underbed system for your 2006 Chevrolet Silverado shortbed like the B&W system. The B&W systems are amongst the best in the business so going with install kit # BWGNRK1067-5W and Companion hitch # BWRVK3400-5W for a short bed will give you everything you are looking for plus a gooseneck hitch should you ever need it.
The kit Installs easily using the existing holes in your vehicle's frame. No welding or frame drilling required. I have included some links to videos on both B&W hitches and on the installation kit for you.
