Question:
I have a f 450 that i haul my 38 ft fifth wheel camper. I mounted a set of rails straight to the flatbed. Will a set of air bags help take the bounce out while i am hauling my camper?

Expert Reply:
The Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs will work on the Ford F450 and it will help eliminate the bounce when towing your fifth wheel as long as the fifth wheel rails are installed properly and the king pin is located above the rear axle or in front of the rear axle. The air springs would be installed on the rear of your truck between the frame and the suspension. Then the air springs are filled with air pressure which will help absorb the bounce from the camper so it is not transferred to the truck. It also prevents bottoming out and the air springs can be inflated individually if you need to help to balance the load on the tow vehicle.
Depending on the year and type of your Ford F450 we have the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Rear Kit, # F2176, which will fit 1999-2008 Ford F450 Commercial Vehicle. We have the part Firestone Air Springs and we have the Firestone Air Springs, # F2446, which fits 2008-2010 Ford F450 2WD or 4WD with in Bed Hitch.
You can use the Firestone Dual Air Command # F49VV, which will give you a compressor and a 1 gallon air tank. It will allow you to inflate the air springs together or individually from the cab of your truck.
