Does Bracket Go Above or Below Frame When Installing CE Smith Bunk Brackets # CE27600

Question:

I just received. Bunk board style boat guide 5 ft On your pic you show the frame u bracket on top with u bolts at bottom of trailer frame. On the instructions from smith shows the u bracket on bottom and u bolts on top . Which is the best way for strength as I have a 20 ft alum boat my old ones had the u bracket on the bottom. that came that way with the trailer Thanks

Having the mounting bracket on the top or the bottom of the frame of your trailer when you install the # CE27600 would not matter in terms of strength. Either configuration would be just as strong. It more or less comes down to which height you would prefer. With it underneath the frame it will sit a little bit lower and vice versa.
