Question:

I am looking for a way or a device that I can fasten to my boat trailer and use to get up and over the bow of the boat safely. Could these work even with some minor modification?? Thanks for your help.

The Brophy Aluminum Scissor Steps, # AS24, fully extended is 39 inches tall and can be slightly compressed to 31 inches. If you are mounting the bracket to your boat trailer, you should measure from where the bracket will mount on the trailer down to the ground to see if these dimensions will work.

If after you measure, you need a different size we do have other sizes available in the scissor steps. The Brophy, # AS02, has a extended height of 18 inches to 23 inches, the Brophy, # AS23, extended height is 24 inches to 30 inches.

You should also check the trailer to make sure there is enough space for the mounting bracket. The mounting bracket for the Brophy Aluminum Scissor Steps, # AS24, is 25 inches long and 1-1/2 inches wide.

We do not recommend modifying the scissor steps because the manufacturer has designed that product for safety and a certain weight capacity and we would not want to modify that design in any way.
