How to Determine Correct Replacement Dust Caps for 2012 Karavan SeaDoo Move Trailer
Updated 07/01/2015 | Published 06/29/2015 >
Question:
Karavan wouldnt give me any information on the replacement dust caps, rubber grommets, or hubs for my 2012 Karavan-made PWC trailer they said I would have to go through Sea-Doo to purchase. Therefore, I would rather use eTrailer for all my replacement parts. I just dont know which dust caps/covers to order—the 1.98, the 1.99, or the 2.14? I had no idea there were so many choices, all of which look the same with the untrained eye.

I will be happy to help you out. There are a couple of ways you can determine which dust caps fit your Karavan-made trailer. First, you can measure the opening on the hub where the dust caps fit. The measurement has to be as accurate as possible so you will need to use dial or digital calipers.
The other way is to retrieve the outer bearing number at least, if not both the inner and outer bearing numbers. The bearing numbers are stamped into the sides of the bearings. The outer one you can usually see without taking the whole hub off.
With either the measurement or the bearing number(s) I can tell you which dust caps will fit.
