Recommended Trailer Connector for Providing Reverse Light Signal on 2015 Subaru Outback

Question:
The R79 connector on Subaru Outback 2015 includes a pin for reversing lights. Does the corresponding connector on the C56040 pickup this line? Or do you have a different connector which does? I plan to install a 7-way trailer socket, and thus need the reversing line. It would be cleanest if I could pick it up directly off R79 connector. Thanks.

The Curt 4-Pole Vehicle Wiring Harness # C56040 does NOT provide a reverse light signal on its 4-pole connector, only stop, turn and running lights. The trailer connectors that can carry a reverse light signal will be either 5-pole, 6-pole or 7-pole types.
Converting to a 7-way socket that includes reverse, 12V power and trailer brake signals is easy; all you need to add is part # ETBC7 which is a complete trailer brake install kit that includes a 7-way, connectors and wiring to carry these additional functions. If you only need the reverse light signal and do not require 12V power or trailer brake signals, then instead you can just use part # 37185 (this is one of the parts included in the ETBC7 kit).
We do not offer a plug-in wiring harness that directly taps into the reverse light signal that may be in your Outback Wagon's R79 connector.
Part # 37185 plugs in to the 4-pole connector from harness # C56040 and includes three pigtail leads to make reverse, 12V and trailer brake circuit connections. Please refer to the linked photo.
