Can the Spare of a 2010 Toyota Highlander be Kept After Hitch Install

Question:

We just had a trailer hitch put on our 2010 toyota highlander yesterday and when we picked it up the place that put it on said the spare tire will not fit back underneath! Have you come across this problem before and is there a solution to this? Thank you,

The Curt hitch part # 13534 that you referenced has been confirmed as a fit for your 2010 Toyota Highlander and would allow a full sized spare to be retained on the vehicle after the hitch install.

Without knowing what hitch you had installed it's hard for me to say for certain if the spare should have been able to be kept, but most likely it should have. I attached a picture of this hitch with a full sized spare installed as well.
