Which Hub fits an Outer Bearing L44649 and Outer Race L44610
Updated 03/04/2020 | Published 05/01/2010 >
Question:
I disassembled the hubs and the outer bearing has L44649 stamped on it. The outer racecup for the outer bearing has L44610 stamped on it. The inside diameter of the inner seal is 1.5. The write up Determining the Size of a Trailer Hub Assembly talks about the inner bearing dimension and inner seal dimensions. Now are we talking inner seal and bearing as in the ones on the inside of the hub or are we talking inner diameter as in I.D?

Trailer hubs have two bearings, one is referred to as the inner bearing, closer to the trailer. The outer bearing is the one furthest from the trailer. If we have both of these bearing numbers we can identify which spindle or hub is needed.
So far you have L44649 as your outer bearing and L44610 as your outer race. We carry 8 hubs that use outer bearing L44649. Your inner bearing should either be another L44649 or an L68149. Once you provide us with the second bearing number, I can provide you with a list of hubs that will fit.
I have added a link below to all the hubs that will fit a spindle with an L44649 outer bearing. Do you need an idler hub or hub with a brake drum? On hub part # 8-258-5UC1 the inner and outer bearing dimensions are the same since this hub uses L44649 for both inner and outer bearings.

I am replacing the hubs on my boat trailer an ordered a pair of hubs from you knowing only the outside bearing number an inner race number. I ordered hubs with 44649 inner an outer bearings since the inner bearings were both unreadable. My question is,is it possible my inner bearings are L44643. I only ask because after pulling both hubs apart the inner bearings casings appear to be black while the outer ones are a brass color. I did measure spindle with a flexible tape and got around 1 1/8 inches on inside an outside for where the bearings would sit. Thank you for any help!
