How To Measure The Bolt Pattern On Trailer Wheel While On The Trailer
Updated 05/27/2015 | Published 05/24/2015 >
Question:
Is there any way to tell the bolt measurements without removing the wheel? I need to replace my boat trailer tires, and will be ordering replacements. The problem is that I live in Canada and need to get the right wheel the first time because sending items back is a pain. I know its a five bolt pattern but not sure it its 4.5 or 5. Thanks for any help you can provide.

You sure can measure to find the correct bolt pattern on your wheels if you can see the lugs.
On a 5-bolt pattern, the easiest way is to measure from the center of one bolt hole center to the center of the bolt hole next to it.
If that measurement is 2-5/8 inches - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2. If 2-3/4inches - the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4. If 3 inches - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5, and if it measures 3-1/4 inches - the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2.
I have attached a helpful article that explains how to take the measurement.
I have also attached a link to our product page for the tires and wheels and combos we offer. If you have any questions about any items let me know and I will be glad to make some recommendations.
