How to Measure a Hub or Wheel for the Bolt Pattern
Updated 05/20/2015 | Published 05/18/2015 >
Question:
In your video it shows to measure from middle of bolt hole to middle of opposite side. I am almost positive my bolt pattern on rims are 5 .5 being that they came off of 1992 bronco xlt. But the way ford told me to measure 5 lug from outside of bolt hole to middle of opposite side. Is there something wrong or do I need to follow yur way. Could you make sure an get back to me. I need 4 hubs . But if I measure yur way it wont be 5.5 , so I need to make sure before

If a hub or wheel has an odd number of holes/studs then you would measure from the center of one hole to the center point between the 2 holes across from it. If it had an even number you would measure center to center across the hub.
If you measure from the center of one hole to the center of the hole next to it and you get 3-1/4 inches then it would be a 5 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern.
Vehicle wheels can be different that trailer wheels and hubs and the offset of the wheels are usually different to which is why we recommend not using passenger vehicle parts on a trailer. I have linked the 5 on 5-1/2 hubs and hub and drum assemblies we carry and a help article describing how to measure for bolt pattern.
