Question:
Im looking for a wheel/tire for a small flatbed utility trailer that i just purchased used. The tires are stamped 18.5X8.5-8. This may be an old size designation. If so, what is the current size designation that equivalent? The wheels are a 5-bolt pattern with the centers about 2.75. Is it possible to change the wheel/tire to 10? There appears to be plenty of space for a somewhat larger wheel/tire. Thanks, John

Helpful Expert Reply:
The 18.5x8.5-8 is actually an old tire size that is not used much anymore. The closest metric size to your existing tire would be 215/60-8. Your wheel most likely has a 5-on 4-1/4 inch bolt pattern (see link), you will want to make sure that the bolt pattern of your existing wheels matches that of the replacement wheel.
If you wanted to go up to a 10 inch rim we have the 205/65-10 size on rims like the part # AM3H490 which fits a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern. Size wise this is a very close match to the overall size of the 8 inch wheels you have.
