Question:

I think the #AM-300 is just what I need for an inside application to our Class A bus. But I am only finding it with plastic mounting barckets. The plastic mounting bracket and housing for the springs look flimsy like they wont hold up to much use. Is there one with metal brackets/spring housing? There is already a hand rail on the outside of the bus for climbing up the exterior steps, but I need a hand rail for the 3-4 steps that continue on inside the door. I need to mount this on the inside for grabbing with the right hand as I ascend the stairs into the bus. It needs to be in the shape of #AM-300 as a straight handrail on the inside door jam sits behind the door jam at an angle is not easily accessible to hoist oneself up the stairs Thanks for any assistance you can offer.

As you can see from the product reviews (some of them sent in after a year), the Stromberg Carlson # AM-300 grab handle you referenced is pretty highly rated by our customers. We haven't had any reports of failure.

A folding grab handle with aluminum brackets, part # AC-300 is available as well, which sounds more like what you're looking for.
