How to Get 7 Inches of Drop With an 8 inch Drop Ball Mount
Published 05/08/2015 >
Question:
I have a fixed ball mount w/ 8inch drop, Cls III, rated at 5000 lb, w/ 1inch ball shank hole. I need a 7inch to level my Cls III trailer. I want to mount a 2inch ball w/ 1wide x 3inch long shank, raising the ball by placing the 2ea lock washers on the top side of the mount, rather than with the nut. Is this done is it safe?

To get 7 inches of drop you will need to use your 8 inch drop ball mount you currently have and then use a high rise ball like the part # C40033 that has an inch of rise built into it. This will put you right at 7 inches of drop.
This ball has a 1 inch diameter shank and is a 2 inch ball.
