Brake Mounting Flange Recommendation for a 2k Rated Trailer Axle

Question:
How is the brake flange added to an existing 2,000lb axle? Does the spindle have to be cut off, flange added and spindle re-welded? Or can it be welded to the end of the tube after removing the hub? I have tried to locate a 2,000 lb axle with a 72inch HF and 58inch SC with a brake flange with no success. Does your company have access to such an axle or is a retro fit my only option. It is too late for me to go with a 3,500 axle as I have already purchased the 7inch brake from you and prefer to stay with the smaller diameter axle. Would appreciate any advice you can provide. Thank you

What you will want to do is purchase the part # 4-34 as this is a brake mounting flange designed for 2k axles.
The brake mounting flange needs to be welded on perfectly square and concentric and if it is off just a little bit, this can lead to all kinds of problems with trailer ride, stability, tire, and suspension wear. We strongly recommend that brake flanges be welded on by a professional shop that routinely works on trailers and has the equipment required to weld the flange to the spindle.
