Compatibility of Replacement Landing Gear Motor # LG-142178 with Original on Keystone 5th Wheel

Question:

The landing gear motor for my Keystone 5th wheel has the same P/N 8532-07 as your LG-142178 replacement motor. Can I substute the LG-141893? It is a higher RPM motor and is rated at 5500 lbs.

The replacement landing gear motor you referenced, Stromberg Carlson # LG-142178, is a widely compatible replacement motor that will work with most major brands of 5th wheel landing gear, including Stromberg Carlson, Lippert, Venture and Atwood. These makers comprise most of the landing gear market and their products can use a wide range of the same replacement parts, including motors.

The linked photo shows you the standard spacing of the mounting posts - 4-1/8-inches - which is the only thing you really need to be concerned with. Motor RPM will not matter in terms of capacity. Kit # LG-142178 includes the switch.
