Compatibility of Yakima HullRaiser Kayak Carrier With Factory Crossbars on 2015 Subaru Outback

Even after speaking to Yakima I am unsure whether this part works with the standard Hullraiser and the factory crossbars on my 2015 Outback. Is using this part an option versus using the Hullraiser aero adapter kit? Any pros or cons that would dictate choosing one over the other?

If you have the HullRaiser Aero model, part number Y04038, it will mount directly to the factory bars of your Outback. If you have the standard HullRaiser, part Y04039, you'll need the # Y8860031 conversion kit. You'll need two kits for each kayak. I've confirmed this with my Yakima representative.
