Expert Reply:
The Brophy Hitch Adapter, part # HT5R is designed to be inserted in a 1-1/4 inch trailer hitch receiver and gives you a 2 inch receiver for hitch mounted accessories like bike carriers or cargo carriers. Using an adapter like # HT5R will reduce the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by 50 percent. If the hitch you have installed is a Class l hitch with a 200 lb tongue weight capacity, you will reduce that to 100 lbs. That weight includes the weight of the carrier and any cargo in the carrier.
You will want to check with your owner's manual or with your dealership to make sure you do not exceed the tongue weight or towing weight capacity for your Corolla. I have attached a link to a product review video for the adapter you can check out.
If you need a pin and clip for the 2 inch adapter I recommend part # PC3.
