Can TORKLIFT Super Truss Be Used With Curt Class V Trailer Hitch On 2014 Ram 3500

Question:

I just installed a CURT hitch on my new 2014 RM 3500 DRW. Is it possible to use a TORKLIFT Super Truss with this setup? If not would a DIY extension similar to the Super Truss be workable.

The trailer hitches that the TorkLift SuperTruss Hitch Extension, like part # TLE1524 is designed for hitches that have 2 receiver openings like the TorkLift SuperHitch Magnum, or Original. When the extension is used with these hitches it reduces the gross towing capacity and tongue weight capacity by 50 percent, unless used with a weight distribution system. The extension is inserted into both receivers, for added strength and stability.

The Curt Trailer Hitch, C15808, you said you installed has one 2-1/2 inch receiver opening. Using any extension in this hitch will reduce the towing capacity and tongue weight capacity by half.

I cannot recommend using a do it yourself extension in your hitch. I have attached a helpful article about hitch adapter you can check out.
