What Is The Shoe In A Schwintek Slide Out System And What Does It Do

Updated 11/17/2025 | Published 03/08/2023

Question:

Are the 2 L shaped pieces a type of foam? I have found 2 on 2 different slides of my 5th wheel and I am trying to find out what they are from. They look like part of the wear pads, but I am not 100 sure. Thanks,

The piece you're referring to in the # LC26VR kit is called a "shoe". This part is plastic with foam pads on each end that helps cushion the motor bracket as it slides back and forth to either end of the track.

@Evgeniy The shoes aren't sold totally separate but you can order them without the racks with part # LC83BX.

@KevinC. 220$ for that kit is probably the biggest rip off I’ve seen all year.

@Dave Yea slide out parts can be expensive. But that is the price you pay for getting OEM replacements and not off brand. Just the way it is.
