Question:
Hey, I am looking at the Curt Hitch C11412 for my 2016 VW Golf . I primarily plan to use it with a rear bike rack and worry that it may scrape if it isnt high enough. Can you tell me how high it sits, how far from the ground the bottom of the receiver sits with this rack.

On your 2016 Volkswagen Golf Curt trailer hitch # C11412 will have the receiver slightly below the rear fascia. If you measured up from the ground to the bottom of the rear fascia and then subtracted 1-3/4 inches that would be approximately where the bottom of the hitch would be.
For a bike rack you will need one that is compatible with a Class I hitch and you are limited to 2 bikes at most. To help with ground clearance I recommend a bike rack that has a rise built into the shank. A rack that has all these features is the Kuat NV 2.0, part # NV12G, which offers a 3-1/2 inch rise.
