How do I know if my 2015 Kia sorento LX v6 has a vehicle tow prep?

The easiest way would be to call your dealer's service department and have them run the VIN of your vehicle. They should be able to tell you exactly how your vehicle was equipped. You could also locate the tow plug connector, which is on top of the frame member at the passenger side rear. Remove the protective cap, and use a circuit tester like # 40376 to as each tail light circuit is activated to see if the connector is active. If it is, you have the tow package, if not you do not.

The Curt Class III Trailer Hitch you referred to, part # C13152 will fit all models of the 2015 Sorento.

If you weren't planning on towing with the hitch, but were going to use the hitch as an attachment point for a bike rack or other hitch mounted accessory, it won't matter whether you have the tow package or not.

If you find you have the tow package, use part # HM11143965 or if you don't, use part # C56256. I've linked you to the installation instructions and install videos for the hitch and the two wiring harnesses.
