Question:
My current tires are 4.8, 12 with 5 on 4.5s in load range B. Can I upgrade to load range C? Would there be any reason not to do that? How about load going with a 5.3 in lieu of 4.8s, is there any problem with that.

There's no reason you couldn't upgrade your 4.80-12 Load Range B tires with Load Range C's like the part # AM10062. These would fit the exact same as your current tire with the only difference being that they have a higher Load Range.
You could also go with a 5.30-12 like the part # AM10068 as long as you have room for a tire that is just a tiny bit taller and wider. This tire is 5.5 inches wide and 21.9 inches tall, whereas the 4.8-12s are 4.9 inches wide and 20.7 inches tall.
