Can a Taillight Converter Work with a 2005 Chevy Corvette C6

Updated 01/05/2015 | Published 01/04/2015

Question:

Part Nr:118158. I am thinking of using this device on my Corvette C6 to be able to separate the blinker from the brake light so i can use european tail lights with separate amber blinker and brake lights. My question is does the amp load go straight thru the device with little loss of power ?? The reason for the question is that the BCM module measure the amp load to decide if the bulb is broken or not. Are the left and right incoming brake wires isolated from each other in a way that prevent full load to one side, blinker to the left and the break light load is to the right during blinking. Scenario example = BCM thinks break light circuit is shortcut on the right side car = fault code or defective bulb.

The taillight converter # 118158 you referenced will separate the blinker from the brake light on your Chevy Corvette C6. You won't lose any amperage. However, converter # 118158 will not work with vehicles that have LED taillights. I am thinking your Corvette will have LED taillights.

The converter is really designed to be used when a motorhome is towing another vehicle by way of a tow bar.

I added a video review for you as well.
