Clarification of the Weight Capacity for the Trailer Valet Swivel Jack # STC-V211
Published 12/19/2014 >
Question:
Question about product # STC-V211 I see that the weight is 500lb. Is that the full weight it is designed to support? I see some folks in comments/reviews saying they have used it with a boat trailer with 2500lb of weight on it. I have a heavy trailer that I am interested in using it with, if it will indeed work with 2500lb. Your expertise is much appreciated. Cheers,

The weight capacity for the Trailer Valet Swivel Jack # STC-V211 that you referenced would be for 500 lbs of tongue weight. Tongue weight is the amount of vertical force that is pushing down on the ball of your trailer while towing, not to be confused with total trailer weight which is what you are confusing it with I believe. If your trailer weighs 2,500 lbs the tongue weight would most likely be between 250 lbs and 375 lbs so this would have the capacity for your trailer.
For further information on tongue weight I attached an FAQ article to the right on how to determine tongue weight.
